Budgeting a cycle
In Randio Open Settings → Billing
Outreach catalogs are the only line you can plan before the cycle starts. The base fee is fixed and the commission follows sales.
The arithmetic
Reachable people × campaigns in the cycle = catalogs.
The reachable count is smaller than the group: Randio skips unsubscribed, bounced and suppressed addresses, people in a send cooldown, and anyone holding another campaign's live catalog. The campaign page shows about how many a run will send to; Settings → Billing shows catalogs used so far this cycle.
| Reachable | Campaigns | Catalogs | Extra at $0.02 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 150 | 3 | 450 | $0 |
| 250 | 3 | 750 | $0 |
| 1,000 | 4 | 4,000 | $65 |
Nothing stops at 750. The campaign keeps sending and the extra catalogs appear on the bill.
When catalogs land in a cycle
Randio sends in short windows and holds each store to a daily send limit, shown on Settings → Preferences, that starts at a fixed figure and grows as the list proves clean. A large first campaign therefore spreads over several days. A catalog counts in the cycle its email was sent in, which can be the cycle after the one the campaign started in.
Starting sizes
Starting points, not rules. Keep the reasoning and change the numbers once you have results.
- 50 to 200 people per campaign for the first few runs: enough to read a result, few enough that one order does not decide it.
- Two or three campaigns per cycle, changing one thing between them.
- Scale what worked. The cost per catalog is flat, so only the response rate is in question.
Storefront
A Storefront campaign has no catalog line. It costs nothing to leave running and adds to the bill only through commission on what it sells.
